Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri and has been a lifelong resident. He was raised in a family which fought for the rights of wrongly injured people. Mike's father, Al, founded a law firm some 50 years ago. As a result, Mike had the fortunate opportunity while growing up to be exposed to an aggressive trial practice which solely represented people injured by large corporations. With this background, Mike had no problem identifying his purpose in life, to level the playing field and aggressively fight for people who have been injured by large corporations.

Mike's concern for wrongly injured people as well as his aggressive, hard work and success on their behalf has not gone unnoticed. A large number of his clients come from his peers in the legal field.

In order to carry out his dream, Mike founded the firm of Yonke & Pottenger, L.L.C. with Jason Pottenger. He continues to concentrate his practice in the areas of automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and construction site accidents. He additionally focuses on premises liability cases against large corporations, such as Home Depot, for injuries sustained as a result of falling merchandise. Finally, Mike utilizes approximately 15% of his time representing defendants charged by the Federal Government with white-collar crimes and Rico cases.
